I'm your DJ Rockin Wills The Music Professor hitting the air waves live.  Smack Smack  Oh that hurt!
Yep it is the Non Serious Radio Station Howl at 469.5 on your dial.  Blogville's own Radio station.
I'm here live at the Community Square and we are starting
to see a few pupsters and kittenestesa coming into the square for the COUNTDOWN!
Everybody dress warmly.  It is a frozen New Years Eve.
The Dogsters advise pupsters wanting to leave a long pee mail to please text, as you will experience a dam as in you will form an icicle and the experience can be very painful.  You don't want to know how the Dogsters handle this medical problem.
That Ball on top of the firehouse is going to drop in Blogville for the first time.
Chief Bites and Officer Ranger are working the East Side and we have Officer Mr. K and Junior Officer Angus McConnell on the West Side to patrol the crowd.
And the Paramedic Team with  Benjamin Gilligan is standing by if anyone gets sick over by the Gazebo.
Bad Dawg Agency is performing there.  The women pupsters and kittenesteas will be swooning, why they drop like flies when the Bad Dawg rock.
The crowd is starting to grow.  They are forming a circle around the square.
 The clock is ticking

Who is going to be the first to kiss in 2014.
OH THE BALL HAS STARTED!
The crowd is roaring.  Aarooo Aarooo  Aaroooooo
The clock is getting close lets all START COUNTING!!!!!

The Ball has dropped! It's 2014
Oh NO!! The ball has broken loose, its bouncing.  Oh dogs what a sight.  What has happened!
This is a disaster
Who is going to pay for this!
Anybody for a game of fetch?
Who is going to catch that ball?
Officer Ranger reported PUDDLES as being
up there earlier!  That darn PUDDLES.

Oh they are throwing their hats in the air!
Oh the crowd has started to sing Auld Lang Syne to each other.
Everyone has joined paws, someone take my paw, and they are swaying back and forth.
Most people don't know that Auld Lang Syne  is a Scottish poem written in 1788 by Robert Burns and later set to the music of a folk SONG.
Yep I saw the first couple kiss.  It was "Psssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh."

Look What I Got From Katie

Why this box was a true shock.  Lee said to me, Sweet William The Scot, do you recognize the name?  Lee thought maybe I was having a secret affair.  But no I have an admirer.

Well inside was a card and it said "We couldn't resist the gift for your Mom.  Make her wait till Christmas to open!"
Well our normal Christmas is usually just me, Sweet William The Scot, getting presents.  Normally there are none under the tree for Lee.  It is just the two of us.  This year was a really BIG Surprise for Lee.  Okie Dokie I made Lee wait till Christmas morning.
Do you see how gorgeous Katie is over at Change Is Hard, why those furs look amazing!
Lee got socks, scottie socks!  Now Lee is wearing me on her feet.
I always knew Lee wanted to walk all over me.
This gift made us smile when we got a box from someone we did not know and it will keep us smiling every time Lee puts them on.
Thank You Katie, why you are a sweet as you look.

We took this picture at  Krohn Conservatory this year We thought it was really pretty.

Look What Reilly & Denny Sent

I got four presents this year.  Now here is the third envelope that came.
Why I got a package from Reilly and Denny over at Cowspotdog.
Wonder why they would send me a package.
Well their beautiful Scottie Card said " Every year we pick a couple of special buddies and send them a little gift to let them know they really are special to us".
When we read the card we just sat for awhile thinking how much Bree, Reilly & Denny has blessed our lives and how talented Bree truly is.
Did you know when she recreated our Blogville village with her trains they named the Bed & Breakfast the Sweet William B&B.  Lee said she always wanted to own a Bed & Breakfast.
Reilly, Denny & Bree sent us the scottie throw which we are using every night to snuggle in when we watch the television, we feel like we are snuggled in love.  AND we got one of her fabulous Zentangle totes with a scottie ~ the design is on both front and back.  Cowspotdog has a shop where Bree sells her wonderful cards, paintings and Zentangle.  Her shop is Paws For A Cause.  ALL the proceeds from the sale of her items go towards helping all creatures big and small.
We recommend them 100%
Thank You So Much Reilly, Denny & Bree

Look What Wallace & Samuel Sent

Under my Christmas Tree was an envelope from Wally & Sammy over at
Why that envelope traveled a long way to get to me.
So let me show you the second present I got.
Why look they sent me their picture, they are two great looking Scots.
My they wrote me a nice note.
They sent me this very pretty beaded Christmas tree ornament.  And they sent us this years Sunflower Bandana.

The Sunflower Fund Bandana is for a great cause.  It says "become a bone marrow stem-cell donor and help those suffering from Leukemia".  My Lee has a different blood disorder and was very sick this past Spring.  At some point and time my Lee might need a bone marrow transplant. The bandana says
Share a Little, Save a Life
Every year there is a different bandana.  This is the second year they sent us a bandana.
It truly means so much that they care.  They are the bestest friends any dog could have.

Bake Cookies Day

I, Sweet William The Scot, am joining, Daily Daisy Dog Blog in her Blog Hop.
Kipferl cookies originate from Vienna, Austria and we love to bake them at Christmas. They melt in your mouth.

Ingredients for approx. 25 - 30 Kipferl

  • 260g (2 1/2 cups) plain flour
  • sieved
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla sugar
  • 100g (1/2 cup) ground almonds
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 200g (1 cup) soft butter
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tabelspoons icing sugar to dust the kipferl
Put approximately 200g sugar into a screw-top jar, slice one Vanilla Bean, remove the pulp with a small spoon and cut the bean into 2 or 3 pieces. Add pulp and the vanilla bean pieces to the sugar. Close the jar and shake well. Let the vanilla sugar rest for a few days, shake occasionally.
  • Directions

Mix the butter, salt, vanilla sugar and egg yolk in a bowl using a hand mixer.

Add ground almonds and flour and quickly knead a firm dough.

Divide the dough into quarters and form four rolls, each one about 2 to 3cm. thick. Cover the rolls with cling wrap and cool them for about an hour.

Flour the worktop and cut the rolls into slices (about as thick as a finger) and form little crescents.

Put the Kipferl on a greased baking sheet, or a sheet lined with parchment paper.

    Bake at 160°C / 320°F in a pre-heated oven for 12 to 15 minutes.

Remove the almond crescents carefully with a palette knife.

Fill the icing sugar into a small bowl and dust the Kipferl while they are still warm.

Let the cookies cool completely on a cooling rack.
Yum Yum Good! Oh and the smell is wonderful!
Why look at all my cards.  We have made a lot of friends in Blogville.
Why we even have three presents under our Christmas Tree.
    One from CowSpotDog.
And one from a new friend Change Is Hard.
All were surprises to Lee and me.  They have made us smile every day.

Drink UP

Okie Dokie today I, Sweet William The Scot, am going to talk to you about something serious ~ BOOZE!!
Pour me a shot!

The other night we had a visitor to our Book Club, Molly Wellmann, a Cincinnati-based bartender, bar owner and general cocktail aficionado.
Molly's book begins with an introduction to bar basics but then her book
“Handcrafted Cocktails” takes the unique approach of categorizing cocktails by the time of day in which they’re best enjoyed.
Molly sure loves her TATs even in the coldest weather she is always in sleeveless outfits.
Molly always has a smile on her face  she is a very GENUINE person.
So lets get Sloshed!
Drinks vary from classics, to some of Molly’s original concoctions. One such drink, the Green Lantern, combines tequila with pineapple juice, cilantro, mint and jalapeno for a healthy shot in the arm on a particularly bleary morning.
Moving toward afternoon drinks you’ve got staples like the Mint Julep.

How dry I am ~ How wet I'll be if I don't find that backyard key.

Dinner-time drinks look to whiskey in cocktails.
After-dinner drinks include things like an Apple Butter Toddy and a Rusty Nail, as well as the lush Hanky Panky, which combines gin and sweet vermouth with Fernet.
Molly gives some of the recipes historical background and a handful of personal anecdotes for an easy read from start to finish.

Oh I'm hammered blasted fried blitzed!

Oh did you know George Washington's distillery has been rebuilt.  After a nearly 200-year hiatus, George Washington's still is bubbling again, churning out the same sort of rye whiskey that made the Founding Father the nation's most successful whiskey producer in the years after his presidency.  It sell limited quantities of the whiskey - up to 5,000 gallons a year.
Remember during the Holidays always have a  "designated driver".

My Ears Are Ringing

In my city is the Verdin Bell and Clock Company.  Since 1842 they have been making bells and clocks.
Verdin cast bronze bells ring from more than 50,000 installations around the world.
Why they are in The Netherlands.
East Tennessee State University raised funds to build a Verdin bell and clock tower to create a focal point of their campus.
Bells for Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi's long silent tower in Sante Fe, New Mexico.
I am inside where they make the bells. You can see them making bells here.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbWJHXh1Gvk
My ears are ringing!  I hear bells.
The Millennium Bell
The World Peace Bell is one of more than twenty Peace Bells around the world made by Verdin.
The World Peace Bell was first rung in Nantes on March 20, 1999, in a public ceremony. It then underwent a month-and-a-half-long sea voyage from France to the U.S. port of New Orleans, Louisiana, where the bell was made part of that city's Fourth of July celebration. The bell was then transported by barge up the Mississippi and Ohio
Rivers, making stops in 14 cities along the way.

Verdin tower clock overlooks the Brooklyn Bridge and the New York Harbor.
Look at the size of the weight for the clock above.
Verdin street clocks are found in the finest communities across America. Mt. Holly, New Jersey created a gathering place on their main street. You can go here and see if one is in your city
Historically, church bells have served as timekeepers, used to mark the hour for work, prayer, and community gatherings.  In addition, church bells today often ring to commemorate occasions and events. The melodious sound of cast bronze church bells is timeless. Enclosed in prominent landmark towers and steeples, church bells are known and recognized, both by sight and sound, as local fixtures representing the enduring quality of community.
So when you hear bells this Christmas Season there is a good chance they were cast in my city.

My Answer

After each confession I, Sweet William The Scot, said
"That is the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth."  I cannot tell a lie!
Why did you not believe me?
But I can perpetrate a practical joke or a hoax.
I CONFESS TO A HOAX.

Well both were true.

The mid west witnessed two major fireball events in less than 2 days.  On September 27 a meteor entered the atmosphere by Columbus.   People reported it being very bright over the Eastgate area which is nine miles from my home.  You can go to the to the site to see the meteor and read the story.
Lee has had three Scots and none of them have been destroyers.  Seeing is believing so here I am with my toy from Hoke that will be two years old at Christmas and my toy from Amber Deweenie that I got this Spring.  You can go back and check prior posts if you don't believe me!
I love playing with my toys.

False Confession Day

 False Confession Day November 21st
"THIS IS NOT FOR SANTA PAWS EYES"
 Okie Dokie per
The Adventures of Ranger's instruction I have to tell you two things ~ One True and One False!  Per the rules you have to guess which is which.

1st One ~ On September 27th around 11:30 PM  I, Sweet William The Scot, went out for the last time to do my business before Lee and I went to bed.  As usual I was taking my good old time about finding the right spot to do my business.  I sniffed it out and I was humping just getting ready to pop it out when WTF happened.    I was lit up ~ there was a fireball in the sky ~ there was a boom!  The whole neighborhood could see me going potty!  Oh dogs I took off running for the back door.  I was screaming Lee hold the door open incoming!  I had to beat that fireball to my door!  I had no time to cut the poopers off.  Dogs I was shooting out poopers and whizzing pee across the driveway up the steps on the porch.  I was emptying my tank.  I passed Lee through the kitchen, dining room, I was headed for my safe place under Lee's big bed.  That is the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
I got a card from Ranger.

2nd One ~  I, Sweet William The Scot, am a very good boy.  I look at all your pictures how you destuff  your toys and I wonder why do you do that.  It can't be very much fun to get something and destroy it immediately.  Why I still have one of my Christmas toys that Hoke sent me in the Christmas exchange two years ago.  It is a Kong Braidz.  And the toy Amber DeWeenie gave me this spring does not even have a hole and the squeaker works quite fine.  I play with both toys everyday.  I love my toys and cherish them.  That is the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Inside the card was a certificate for one free can of Iams Shakeables Soft & Chewy Dog Treats.
Why they are so popular they cannot keep them on the shelves.  I hope my store gets a supply soon.  Thank You so much Ranger.  The only way I get treats is if I win them.  Lee just gives me apples or carrots for treats.

I Got Mail

Last week I, Sweet William The Scot, got a package.  The package came from
 Gardening With Wyatt.
Why Stanzie and Wyatt said I had won a prize in the Haunted House Contest.  I won a prize.
Yippee Yippee Yipee.
Lee gave me the box and right away I started in to opening my box.

I put my whole body into the job.
When I finally had it open why I knew I hit the mother load.  Why Stanzie and Wyatt had packed not one but two stuffies for me.

My eyes popped when I saw one was a terrific Kong toy. A Kong knot toy.  Kong is my favorite because I know they last and last.

I am so grateful.
I Thank You very much Stanzie and Wyatt.
I love my new stuffies and I will take very good care of them.

Next time I post I will be back to showing you interesting things around my city.
