The Singing Mural
What song do you think they are singing?
In the early planning stages, the possibility of painting this mural on the side of Music Hall was discussed. For obvious reasons, they eventually moved to the CET building across the street. Renowned local illustrator C.F. Payne created the design.

Most of the mural was actually painted by a team of local young people, but Payne had to help with parts of it. “I climbed the scaffold to work on Mr. Rogers’ daggone teeth,” he said.

Top row, left to right: Cincinnati arts patron Patricia Corbett a fan, Sesame Street’s Grover, the Phantom from Phantom of the Opera, rock artist Elton John, opera singer Beverly Sills, a euphonium player, jazz singer Cab Calloway, the lead role from opera Madame Butterfly and legendary composer Johann Sebastian Bach.

Bottom row, left to right: Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker,  opera singer Leontyne Price as lead role in opera Aida, conductor Maestro Erich Kunzel, Police Officer, PBS icon Mr. Rogers, the lead role from opera Pagliacci,  broadcasting legend Ruth Lyons (first daytime talk television person), a kid and the Cincinnati Reds’ own Mr. Redlegs.

Well there are the answers.
Will the winners please e-mail me their addresses.

Now for some other news.  Sweet William The Scot has had a very bad limp for the last two weeks due to his dysplasia of his forefoot paws.  The veternary community cannot do anything to fix the problem. I have been carrying him.  Oz referred us to Epic Pet Health a holistic approach.  We will be trying this approach and doing a review.
For myself in a post called The Gift I talked about my own health issue.  Well my blood numbers have elevated also and with Sweet William needing to be carried I am bone tired.
Other than for the review we will be moving out of blogville.  I don't know if it will be permanent.
To all of our friends from Rocky Creek Scotties at the very beginning, to Frankie tracking us down when we did not have a blog, to George The Lad for including us in Where is George when we did not have a blog and Jazzi accepting me as her date without a blog we applaud you.  Your friendship has meant a lot.
And to those we met along the way each and every one of you have been a joy in our lives.

Thanks for being our friends

All over our town are painted murals. Painted in this mural are eighteen characters.  The dog, cat, crab, guinea pig, horse, oh shucky darn whoever can name the most characters wins The Golden Acorn!
In case of a tie, there will be a tie breaker question.  What number am I thinking?

School Days

This is where my Lee went to public elementary school.
Lee could walk to elementary school.
It is a big school.  Two stories of class rooms.
This is the back of the elementary school.  It has three wings.
When we walk by, I stop and watch the children play.
This is the bridge going into the public High School where my Lee went.
Lee took public transportation or biked to this school which was eight miles from her home.
It is the biggest High School in Cincinnati.
In Lee's graduating class there were over 1,700 students.
This is the back of the High School and the track football field.
This school has three and a half floors with classes in the basement also.
This is where my Lee went University.  Scholarships and Lee working paid for her education. It is fourteen miles from her home and Lee had to take two buses to get to school.  One bus took her to downtown Cincinnati then another to the University.
The inner campus.
The beautiful library with its glass dome.
Yep it is the University of Cincinnati.
Wisdom is The Principal Thing
Therefore Get Wisdom.
That Proverb is engraved on McMicken Hall.  Lee read that every day.
Lee always wished they had finished 4:7 and with all thy getting get understanding.
Lee was always changing schools.  I don't understand why.  Maybe it is because she is a mess.
Yep Lee said she was a mensa.
Now this was my school.  I never needed to change schools.  They loved me.  I never made a mess.
Lee drove me to my school.
Lee paid for my education.
My blackboard.  Every week they put my homework in the orange slots.
My teacher, Mr. Kodiak.  Mr. Kodiak demanded respect.  No spit balls in his class!
Lee says I have to say Kodiak was the trainer's dog, but Lee is wrong.  Mr. Kodiak instructed the class.

Thank You Loving Max for giving us The Versatile Blogger Award last week.

The Chronicles of Wallace and Samuel gave us the Sunshine Award also last week.  Thank You Wally and Sammy we hope we bring sunshine.

Will The Real DaWeenies Please Stand Up

I, Sweet William The Scot, got an e-mail last week from Amber DaWeenie.   Amber wrote that she and the brudder Max (DaOdderWeenie) and the Sissy Autumn would be hittin the road and cutting a path through my fair city on the way to the mitten state.  So I, Sweet William The Scot, being the gentleman that I am said you want to sniff butt and meet me for a picnic lunch.
Well Lee and I packed a lunch for all and drove down to the Friendship Park in the inner city to meet up.
Max and I being boys we had a serious talk about the girls in Blogville.
Then time for the photo shoot.
Dogs they are trying to take our pictures, why are you giving them your best side?
This Butt's For You!
Well three out of four looking the same way!
I, Sweet William The Scot, think I will take the load off my paws and lay down because we are not ever getting a picture of us all looking the same way.
Before long it was time to say good-bye.  I sure had a great, fun, wonderful time meeting the real DaWeenies!
Hope they stop by Cincinnati again.
The DeWeenies gave me the nicest tote filled with goodies.
Look at all the Florida souvenirs.
Thank you very very much Amber, Brudder Max and Sissy Autumn.

Look Out!

This is a one picture post!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words.
Yep it's this picture!!!!
Lee heard this was the best place to take a picture of my city, Cincinnati.
See my city behind me.  Look Out!
We climbed that hill behind me.

We hopped in the car went over a bridge to Kentucky and parked our car.  Climbed up and up the weeds got thicker and thicker.  I, Sweet William The Scot, thought I was in a jungle.  I could see nothing but weeds.  Finally we found this little brick wall.  We took the picture, and started down the hill.  I have never seen my Lee so excited, why Lee was standing on her head, legs in the air.  Then Lee bounced up and down on her bum. Then Lee decided to roll in the weeds. Poison Ivy weeds.  Lee was going so fast I could not keep up.  I was shouting Lee let go of the leash your dragging me into the burrs.  Lee didn't let go.  I could not see Lee anymore for the tall weeds. Where did she go? When the tugging stopped and I caught up Lee was on her hands and knees looking for something.  Being the good dog I am. I jumped in right away to help.

We got to the car it smelled pungent.  Lee I think that is SKUNK!
Yep the car had been perfumed.
Three times through the car wash, we let them enjoy our smell.  We believe in sharing.  Lee then scrubbed her skin off with Lava Soap and then me having the burrs torn out of my furs in the tub for a scrub and Lee back in the shower for another Lava Soap down.
Now I ask you is this picture worth a thousand words??
You want to hear Lee's HBO words?

Psssss ~ I told Lee I left my favorite scarf on the climb up the hill.  Lee said she left more than that and to just be grateful we got off the hill with our lives.
