LEGO 100,000 + LEGO

I showed you this interactive water display in Washington Park last week.  But I, Sweet William The Scot, did not really come down to see the new park.  I had to transgress the park from where Lee parked the car to get to the building you see across the cobblestone street.

Yep that is Music Hall.  A beautiful Gothic Revival building, constructed in 1878.
Made it across the street!
Always look both ways.
I rested right inside the doors while Lee got the pictures.
There was something to see in the lobby.
More than 100,000 LEGO bricks to build a replica of Music Hall.
The hardest part building was the large rose window and arch work above.
1,350 individual clear LEGO window panels.
More than 10,000 transparent blue dots that make up the Miami-Erie canal which use to be behind Music Hall in the late 1800's
960 seats.
The LEGO ceiling looks like the real ceiling
7.5 months to build.
Builder of this 1/50 scale model is Mark Clark.
Model is 100 inches wide by 196 inches deep by 42 inches high.
Now some small detail shots.

Oh did I tell you Music Hall has a reputation as one of the most haunted sites in the city.
Music Hall was selected as one of The Travel Channel's Most Terrifying Places in America!

  13. That is a very impressive building SW, and the lego vervion is just incredible. Great that you went to visit. The architecture reminds Gail of the hotel in front of St Pancras Station in London, where one day I hope to be taken.

  24. Ringy dingy ding-a-ling, Sir William.
I cannot believe someone made a scale model of the Music Hall from Legos. Who has time for that? I sure hope that guy didn't have a dog...who had to wait around while he played with Legos every night...before he could get some dinner.

  25. SWTS It's great that you got to go see all those LEGOS. October 4th is St. Francis of Assisi Blessing of the Animals day and Taco Day - can't get any better than that! WooHoo

  26. That building is really beautiful, but the Lego thing is just amazing! Imagine how hard that would be! I'm sure they don't let any kids play with THAT! Why, there should be a handsome little lego Sweet William outside the front of it!
    Have a great weekend,
    Pippa :)
