THANKS TO OUR FRIENDS PART 2

I, Sweet William The Scot, told you I got two envelopes last week.  Well the second envelope was from my buddy Oz.  I call him Oz The Great and Powerful because he is so knowledgable.
Why his peep goes to all those conventions and finds out about new products that are good for us and helps with our lives.

Now Oz wanted to tell me about Lindy & Company Gourmet Pet Treats.
Why Lindy is right here in my state of Ohio.
To be exact 54 miles up Interstate 75 from my home.  Well if my Lee could drive like she use to before her Vestibular attack and her inner ear gives her vertigo attacks we could hop in the car and take you there.
But since we can't we still want to tell you Lindy & Company was created by Daybreak, a nonprofit in Dayton Ohio, that provides shelter, housing, and support for youth who have no place to call home. Why we know exactly where they are on Wayne Street Dayton's historic South Park neighborhood,  which is on the National Register of Historic Places, because Lee had a great aunt who lived on that street.
We know that dogs and cats aren't the only ones being kicked out of their homes to live on the streets or in shelters.
Did you know that every year in the U.S. an estimated 550,000 kids face the same fate?
Well Lindy gives them jobs.
Their treats run from $5.00 to $8.95.
I got a bag of Apples & Cheese Please Treats.
Now for the taste test.

Oh I am a BIG FAN of these treats.
They have cat treats also.
Now wasn't Oz smart in telling me about Lindy.
Yum Yum
I also got another wonderful card from Lassiter and Benjamin.  Thank You
No I don't have a bandage on my leg but I sure had one sore bum ~ kind of kept a guy from sitting down.
I am off antibiotics as of last Friday and Lee keeps looking for signs of swelling, so far I am definitely on the mend and I  go back to the vet on June 8th.
Thank You everybody who said a prayer for me.

Thanks for being a  friend

THANKS TO OUR FRIENDS

We got two envelopes, yes two.
The first one to come was from Stella Rose, Maggie Mae and Gussie.
Now I want to thank my friends, The Three Little Pugs, why they sent me a St. Francis dog medal to watch over me.  They must have known that I had given mine away to an old old doggie friend.
Yes I am wearing it on my collar now.
I am getting better each day.
My swelling has gone down.  I have ran the backyard and barked at a deer.
I have went up and licked the hand of the little two year old next door.
Unfortunately the little boy, who was one of our reader students, who hurt me I have not made up with.  He stopped every day for over a week and now stops sporadically.  I hide when I hear him.
The St. Francis medal is so pretty.
Lee has not forced me to see the boy.  She says it has to be my decision that I am safe.
Unfortunately he needs me to forgive him, I was one of his few friends.
I have another week to take antibiotics.  They are making my fur look dull and shabby.

Do I look like the card in the center?
Princess Leah thinks I look like the doggie.  I think so also.
I got four nice cards from Princess Leah, Amber Deweenie, Bentley
and I got to thank Sully whose card was just the darnest, that put my Lee into a giggle fit when it went off in the middle of the night.  We are going to show it to you on June 2nd the date Sarge has set for  Recruit A Pal.

Now I will show you what was in the second envelope that came from my friend Oz The Terrier next week.

Now don't forget The Barkers are playing their first game tomorrow.
We will be at Murphy and Stanley's Blog and Easy's Blog.
I hope the opposing team remembers I wear glasses.

The Steeple & Update On My Wills

I know all of you were praying as was I for a great checkup with good news.
Sweet William has healed with nice pink skin on the outside but he has and infection which the ClinzGard Barrier Gel, a sustained release antibiotic did not kill..
Now he is on fourteen days of oral Clindamycin.
Clindamycin is used to treat serious infections caused by bacteria.
His gland has moved because of scar tissue to the seven o'clock position which means he will need to be expressed from the inside.  But if the antibiotic wipes out the infection the vet does not believe Sweet William will need surgery.
I have a list of signs to look out for and if they occur I have to get him to the vet immediately but if the swelling goes down and the antibiotic does its work, I don't have to take him back for a month.

We  have a funny side occurrence, well if anything about this accident can be funny,  my Wills now wags his tail up and down not sideways and I swear he grins when he does.

We noticed that it was the 75th anniversary of United Dairy, so since Wills was such a good boy at the vet I treated him to a dip of vanilla ice cream for 75cents.  Wills did not eat all of his ice cream or the treat stuck in the ice cream so I know he is not feeling well.

ON WITH OUR POST

Do you remember this as a child?

Here's the church, and here's the steeple
Open the door and see all the people.
Here's the parson going upstairs,
And here he is saying his prayers.

HERE is the church (put your hands together)
and :HERE is the steeple (point your pointing fingers straight up to make a "steeple")
then,: OPEN the doors (open your thumbs)
and :LET OUT the people (wiggle your entwined fingertips so that it looks like people exiting a church)

Children love this nursery rhyme as it combines lyrics and words with actions
It was probably steeped in English history where the architecture of churches and its steeple dominated the skyline of all towns.

We took these pictures before Sweet William The Scot got hurt.

Well here is the door!

Well here is the steeple!

Well open the doors!

The church is gone!  Where did the church go!
I am so confused!
The church and the people are gone!
I, Sweet William The Scot, guess someone beamed them up!
Bawheheeee

The Walnut Hills Presbyterian Church's impressive Gothic Tower still stands.  In 1819,
Rev. James Kemper helped to establish the First Presbyterian Church of Walnut Hills. The remaining tower of the church still exists today.
It is alleged that but for the presence of Mr. Kemper and his family in our town and ready to begin building a church, and his example of rallying people to take care of the sick, wounded, weary and distraught army of St. Clair, most of the people coming to Ohio would have stampeded south.  He was held in high esteem among Native Americans for his bravery.

Nudie Nudie Nudie and Update on my Wills

Update ~ My Wills is getting better and on Friday the vet will decide if he needs surgery to remove the gland that was badly hurt.  Wills is off of pain pills but still has antibiotics.  He has wagged his tail some.  He has been very receptive to my treating his wounds.

Now on with news from our Nati City.
This happened on April 12th ~ before I was hurt.

Nudie Nudie Nudie I, Sweet William The Scot, saw a Nudie!
I was screaming look Lee look.  Well Lee looked and the car stopped.
See we in Cincinnati were told on the news that Photographer, Harvey Drouillard, who has made his name taking pictures of nude models in front of well-known public landmarks across the country, had made Cincinnati his next stop.
Yep Great American Ball Park on Opening Day.
Here is a link to the funny cartoon that ran in our paper.
http://www.wcpo.com/news/opinion/harvey-drouillard-and-his-nude-models-are-about-to-become-part-of-our-opening-day-scene-so-relax

Look Out Boston you are next!
We saw the nudie in this very spot.

Drouillard said “Once I found out all the history -- like the Underground Railroad, as soon as you crossed the Ohio River you were free -- the whole city is about freedom and expression,” he said. “So I was like, ‘There’s no way I’m skipping Cincinnati."
Yep the nudie went up these steps.

Drouillard initially recruited volunteers via an ad on Craigslist.
He has also recruited a “getaway driver,” as well as people on the ground who have already taken photographs of the city for planning purposes.
For baring it all, volunteer models got an 8x10 photo, food and beverages courtesy of Goodfellas Pizzeria and “an adrenaline buzz they will never forget,”  Drouillard said.

Why do I have to put my bum where the nudie was?
I don't have my scarf on, OH NO I am a nudie!

He is coming back in July for a huge group shot right in the center of my city.
He didn’t know about the conservative nature of Cincinnati.
So much dark history, if you will, happened specifically in Cincinnati. A lot of the obscenity laws in the entire country are based on things that happened in Cincinnati.
Robert Mapplethorpe and Larry Flynt had contentious court battles here.

If you want to see the nudie we saw well the link above will show her half way down the page fourth row on the left.

She was at the Elsinore Arch (also known as Elsinore Tower) a registered historic structure in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Constructed in 1883 for the Cincinnati Water Works. It's said to be inspired by the Elsinore Castle (Kronborg) featured in Hamlet.

"He said the photos are not meant to be vulgar, it's not meant to be obscene or pornographic. It's really meant to be about the art. I hope people aren't shocked, you know. If you see us and you don't want to be in the shot, just go the other way."

Well I, Sweet William The Scot, went the other way with one eye open till they left.
