My Sunday Outing

My, Sweet William The Scot's, official Dog Day of Summer
June 28, 2015 Spring Grove Cemetery & Arboretum photo.
Lee had it made into a key chain.
I’m smiling because I went to the WWF Smackdown no I mean the  WDF - Wild Dog Fight smackdown and did not get hurt.  Oh happy day.
This was the first time ever that two peeps came who could not control their dogs.
A giant Husky walked passed me and gave a low guttural growl the woman had it on a long leash.  Lee and I moved back under a shade tree.
Then the Husky and a big black dog who had been rescued  just two months prior went up on their hind legs and the worst fight we had ever seen occurred.  These dogs were just walking toward each other.
Two men jumped in and tried to stop the dog fight.  The men were pulling the dogs hind legs trying to bring them down and hitting them on the head trying to get them to release each other. The men were pulled to the ground by the dogs. It was a long battle with more humans joining in.  One man was hurt badly and had to be taken away in an ambulance.  He suffered a bite and torn skin to his face, jaw and his arm below the elbow and a bite to the leg.  He could not even sit up for the longest time.  Police and the SPCA were called.
The moment it started I jumped for Lee's chest and she caught me in her arms.
Truly these dogs had no business being at this wonderful event.
And after what I witnessed, the way they just went at each other both being such alpha in passing,  I feel sadly there is no hope for these dogs and perhaps they should be euthanized before more people or dogs are hurt.  Sadly the more blood these dogs smelled the more they fought.

Lee does not know if any of our pictures are decent enough to put up for we were using Janet's camera.  But you can see just a snippet of me at the television site above. The video is just 23 seconds.  Lee is the blonde taking my picture.  Janet took me on the Dogwood Walk while Lee tried to take pictures.

Thanks for being a  friend

  7. Why you are famous, Sweet Will!! What a lovely event, it is a shame it had to be marred by a terrible fight! We are sorry for not being around lately, my mum lost her job and has been spending all of her computer time for taking care of business and she hopes it is in a flash. In the meantime I am trying to keep her spirits up, as she can have some quite low times.

  13. So very sad about the dog flight and people and dogs hurt. But I got to see you and Lee and Janet at the event. You had perfect weather for an outing. Sweet William is looking good. Glad you were able to protect your Lee up close when the dog flight broke out.

  15. Holy Dog Fight !!!! I'm so glad you and Lee were not involved. I've never seen a bad fight. Mom doesn't like to take me to BIG dog events cuz she is afraid dat some dogs are not well behaved and as a great scott.... I'd have to stand my ground.
    Great pic of you.

  16. That was a horrible thing to happen at a day out. Peeps should KNOW their dogs. Glad you weren't involved.

  17. Love your picture! How horrible about the fight - too bad the owners could not "read" their dogs and take steps to avoid what happened. Sad sad sad.
Mom says when she gets home from work we can watch the news video!

  19. You did have fun until that awful fight. Sheesh. So furry sad fur all involved, and if peeps understood 'dog talk' then maybe that could have been avoided. Where was the fire hose to break them apart with a jet stream of water?

    I saw you!!
    Glad you stayed safe, phew!

  21. OH SWEET WILLIAM I AM SO SORRY FOR EVERYONE. IT MAKES YOU WONDER IF THE RESCUE DOG HAD BEEN POSSIBLY USED AS A FIGHT DOG. JUST SO VERY VERY VERY SAD. I'M SO SORRY FOR THE TRAUMA CAUSED TO EVERYONE AND THE INJURED MAN. I TRUST THE DOGS WERE TAKEN BY ANIMAL CONTROL. DEAR ME I'M SO GLAD YOU ARE OK AND I HOPE THE EVENT DIDN'T SET YOU BACK. FOR SURE THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AT THE EVENT!!
LOTS OF HUGS AND KITTY KISSES MADI AND MOM

  24. Ringy-dingy-doo...so much for enjoying that event for you. I don't understand why people insist on bringing unsocialized dogs to an event like that. It is a disaster waiting to happen...and that is exactly what happened. So sad. You know, Ma doesn't even take me everywhere. She knows if there will be too many people and too many dogs and too much commotion that I will just get upset, so she leaves me home. People need to learn how to be respectful of their dogs' feelings and such.

  26. Oh Sweet William I am glad those bad dogs left you alone. I think maybe since the owners can't control their dogs they should go night night!! If they fight once they'll do it again. I hope the man that got bitten is okay.

PS You were looking good in the video.
