POTP Please

Making this short.
Wills has developed a spot on his chest about a nickel size, that at this time is believed to be Vitiligo where he has lost all  pigment in his skin.  This can be very mild to severe even involving his internal organs.   A skin scraping test is necessary along with a series of blood tests.  We have an appointment with a specialist on June 14th.  So I am asking for POTP.  Wills is my only family.

Thanks

Lee

    1. Our vet ruled out a parasitic infection and a fungal infection, they even did a poopie check to make sure I had nothing growing in me that could cause a toxin.  So now I need the specialist to check to see if it could be a hypothyroid caused Vitiligo or an autoimmune caused Vitiligo.  We are praying for the hypothyroid caused Vitiligo we can fix that.
In dogs they usually get it on their nose and face first being it is on my chest they are quiet confused.
Sometimes there are just no answers.
Thanks for the prayers my dear friend

    1. Thanks for the thoughts. Will had major blood work done today and a ophthalmology examine.  Vitiligo can have a great effect on his eyes.
After the blood work comes back a core punch biopsy will be done.  Less than 2% of dogs are affected with this. Blood might be able to give us a reason for this and the biopsy to come will tell us the degree of progressiveness.

Hope you are both well and I guess anxiously awaiting the blood work results.

    1. Sort of. Vitiligo presents itself somewhat differently in dogs and cats than humans. My blood work was great. I am waiting on my endocrine workup which takes two weeks and a biopsy is scheduled for the 26th.
      Thanks for stopping by

  44. We know that before she moved in from up the street her name was Flossy. We used to see her hanging out in the drains. My Partner was a tad unwell and she came and sat with him one day and has never left. She has lots of meals these days looks in fabulous condition, is a long coated silver chinchilla and quite likes dogs. The little dogs up the road come down each morning and she sits at the gate to watch them. She never leaves the yard . these days and has become quite the garden supervisor. These days she is known as Pea for Sweet Pea and she is 17 this year and is as fit as a fiddle.good luck for the 26th. I am sure it will all be tickety boo
