Working Hard

Lee said Wills today you have to work!
Yep Lee hired a company to put in a section of privacy fence inside my chain link fence.

See the house next door is in foreclosure and Lee is tired of looking at the unkempt place.
Truly we would prefer to move!

Bentley, my friend, sent me a Joseph statue to help sell our home but we think it was the Joseph of flowers because he really made our flowers grow over him.
( Note to self show what Bentley sent me.)

So I had to help the fence installer.  I tell you I worked my paws into the ground up to my whiskers.  I was the best helper he ever had.  He said I was hired full time if I wanted to go with him.  But I said no thanks Lee needs me.
So see my new Dogwood Privacy Fence.
I had my nose in every part of the job.
The fence goes with my new picnic table and chairs.  They are made out of recycled plastic milk jugs just like the rocking chairs on my front porch.  They last and are heavy and help save the environment.  I helped putting them together also.
I'm one helping guy.
Now Lee says I have to landscape.  So far I see nine pots.  So I have to dig nine holes.

Then we had the city repairing sidewalks.  The city owns them but Lee has to pay to have them repaired.  What a rip and on top of that they really tore up our yard with their big equipment.
One of the dudes was wiping his tools in our front yard and Lee asked why and he said it was because "you have nice grass so the cement comes off our tools easier".
Well did he think we were going to have nice grass after he cleaned his tools?
Picture taken through window screen.
Well that was the week that was.  I stayed home and worked and Lee wrote checks to pay the bills!

Metrobot

Look at the size of Metrobot's feet.
Yep let me, Sweet William The Scot, introduce Metrobot.
Metrobot, is a 27-foot tall robot sculpture.
He is located outside the Contemporary Arts in Nati City.
See me between his legs.
He is saying THANKS CINCY WITH ALL OUR heART.  See his big heart.
Heidelberg Distributors Co., gave Metrobot to the city as a gift for its bicentennial .
Metrobot has a picture of a dog on his screen.  Hum don't know why since it is advertising Glenn Brown first solo museum exhibition in the United States he is a  renowned London-based artist .

Video artist Nam June Paik, who is considered one of the most important artists of the 20th century, created the sculpture.
Metrobot is made of parts from old radios.
Metrobot got wiring and tech upgrades that improved its energy efficiency, and the pay phone it features is available to make phone calls for 10 cents.
Such a deal.
After you make a call you are suppose to leave change for the next person.

Pedaling Along

Oh No!  We have not done this in a long time, well since Lee has spells of vertigo so bad.
We are going to take a Red Bike troll around downtown Nati.
It's a little cooler now.
Yep this Red Bike Stand has a basket I can fit into!
Your Red Bike account portal allows you to see how far you’ve pedaled, how many calories you’ve burned, and more!  You can buy 60 minutes or 24-Hour Pass or Annual Pass for $80 unlimited use and the bikes are kept in great shape.  They are at fifty six locations around the inner city.
We had to walk a couple of blocks to find one that had the big basket.
We pedaled by the Aronoff Center for The Arts.
Situated in Cincinnati’s urban core, the Aronoff Center is located in a district that offers more than 400 ways to shop, dine, play, and stay – all within walking distance.
The urban core is why I am on a Red Bike.
The Red Bike has a lock so if you want to stop for lunch or shop no one can take your Red Bike.
Oh my, chandelier lighting overhead that looks lovely at night.
I got out of the basket because I needed to take a tink on the curb.
When I am in the urban core I was taught to tink on the curb by a grate so it goes into the sewer system.
There is BRU Burger Bar Restaurant.  I wonder if Lee will get us something to eat there.
They are kind of a burger bar.  The building colors look so bright at night light up.
Oh I think we might be headed for Nicholson's.
I can sniff out all the resturants.
I love Nicholson's leftovers.  Lee always orders me leftovers.
But wait Lee told them this time she wanted take out!
Yep we waited for it to be prepared.  Waiting is hard work.
The planters around Nicholson's are so pretty.
A guy after my own heart.
Lee ordered us Fish & Chips
Hand-Breaded Haddock on a Brioche Bun, Slaw, Tartar Sauce, Fries, House-Made Catsup
and we sat outside and ate.
What a great time I have with Lee.

Next week I will show you more of my Red Bike troll.
I will show you my Nati City Robot!

Alfred Hitchcock movie The Birds & My Flowers

Some of you noticed I had a red bandage on my leg last week.
Well here is what happened.
It was something out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie the birds.
I, Sweet William The Scot, was minding my own business which always gets me into trouble ~ I gots to remember to stay in Lee's business.
I was resting by our Cone Plants, right here in the shade
Lee saw a Hawk land on the fence.  Why she even was taking pictures of it from our kitchen window when the thing flew down on me.
Those fence toppers of our neighbors are twelve inches tall!
Lee came running out with the umbrella which she had needed earlier in the day and was by the door.  Lee was swinging at the Hawk with an open umbrella to keep it off of her and get it off of me.
Lee says I was very dumb because I did not run.  I did nothing but hunker down!  But the vet said I was protecting the rest of my body.

Well that Hawk took a bite out of my back, yep he started to eat me.

$151 later at the vet I got a stitch and an IV antibiotic.
And Lee was told it was illegal to harm Hawks!  What crap on a cracker is that.  They can eat me alive and it is against the law for Lee to harm them in protecting me.

O.K. now for some pictures of our cottage style garden flowers around my yard.
Our Porch where Lee and I sit every evening rocking.  See our painted milk can it says Welcome with a flower and our watering can says Happiness Lee painted them.  Black-eyed Susan bloom everywhere.
Come on off the porch and I will show you some other flowers.
The high plant on the other side is a Trumpet Vine which attracts our hummingbirds.
The purple Cone plants really attract the American Goldfinch birds but that dam Hawk dives down on them and eats them.
The start of our side flower bed.  Begonia flowers, Phlox, Lilies, Hosta, Black-eyed Susan, Cone flowers.
Starting around our big Maple we have more Cone Flowers.
Then we have Canna plants which did really well this year.
We have a lot of shade, so we have a lot of Hosta plants.
Most of our Lilies got eaten by deer this year but this pretty one made it.
The Lantana attracted the butterflies in the side bed with the Lilies.
This pot sits by our back door.  It sits on another lime green chair.
This pot sits by our back tree.  The grass needs mowed.
Further back at the end of my yard we have a stone garden Lee is working on.
So sit in our Margaritaville painted chair on the other side of my house for awhile and enjoy our flowers.
Usually this chair has flower pots on each arm rest but they were soaking in water when I directed Lee to take the picture.
We love the green hues so our chairs are either white or green.  The green ones have sayings or designs Lee has painted on them and have all been rescued from someone's garbage.
One man's trash is another man's treasure.
