My Humongous Park & Lovely Blog Award

Well here I am at the center of my humongous, herculean, colossal, prodigious, stupendous big big park. Five miles from my home. The hill you see in the background is the state of Kentucky.

Because my park sits on a steep hillside over the river, it almost always has a good enough breeze to fly a kite. From the overlook you can see Moscow, Ohio up river and down river to Cincinnati.

You ask how big is my park, well with just over 1004 acres, this park has everything you can think of to keep me entertained. My big park is Woodland Mound Park. Outlining the majority of the park's land is a 1.2 mile multi-use paved trail. Because it has dual lanes, bikers, rollerbladers, runners, and walkers can co-exist at their respective pace without interruption. Especially unique are three wooded hiking trails. One specific trail, called Parcours, has 18 workout stations focusing on each muscle group throughout its nine-tenths mile course. The remaining trails are eight-tenths and six-tenths of a mile.

Well look at these steps back in the deep woods. Does this step picture give you a hint as to who I am passing the award on to?  The George and Tess Adventures. They take me to places I will never see. Their mom takes the best pictures, she makes her countryside come alive.  And I, Sweet William The Scot, think you have a very lovely lovely blog.  The award is the one with the pink cup on my sidebar.  I have a cup of Earl Grey when I view your blog.
Now I have to thank Freddie, Gloria and their Mom for giving us the award. Basset Momma from Ontario, Canada she has a delightful blog and Freddie is always up to something.

Hyde Park Square & Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Hyde Park Square ~ a dog friendly neighborhood.  Hyde Park is an eclectic neighborhood in eastern Cincinnati.
Oh me, Oh my, I have been bad about passing on the Awards I have been given. So today I am doing the Very Inspiring Blogger Award.   To the top right of my picture.
When I get an award I feel a sense of pride and I don't pass them on lightly.

Who inspires us, Kim from Life at Golden Pines. Her heart for dogs in need is boundless. One of the dogs she took in recently died, Sam. Kim had Sam I believe because his owner had cancer and could no longer care for him. Kim posted when Sam died that his owner had recently passed also. I like to think Sam knew and let his body release to the bridge so he could be with his owner.
A person who can take in dogs in need, and give, knowing you will not have much time with them is an inspiration to us. So I am only naming Life at Golden Pines. And I most certainly don't expect Kim to follow the rules of this award.

I came across this Dog Will and I thought how appropriate for this post.

Before humans die they write their Last Will and Testament give the homes and all they have, to those they leave behind.

If, with my paws, I could do the same, this is what I'd ask...
To the poor and lonely stray I'd give:
~ My happy home
~ My bowl and cozy bed, soft pillow and all my toys.
~ The lap, which I loved so much.
~ The hand that stroked my fur & and the sweet voice which spoke my name.
I'd will to the sad, scared shelter dog, the place I had in my
human's loving heart, of which there seemed no bounds.
So, when I die, please do not say, "I will never have a pet again,
for the loss and pain, is more than I can stand,"
Instead, go find an unloved dog, one whose life has
held no joy or hope and give MY place to HIM.
This is the only thing I can give....
The love I left behind

Thank you Susie and Sidebite for nominating me. You two have been the bestest friends a scot could want.
I am suppose to share seven things about myself.
Well it is just Lee and I and when we are lonely we love to look at other blogs.
I, Sweet William The Scot, was inbred terribly.
I have deformed front legs that go out 80 degrees at the ankles.
I love almost every person I come into contact with.
I hate puppy mills!
I love the camera and most of my pictures are taken in two shots.
I love popcorn.
Thanks for being a friend

Singing For My Dinner

Well our community, Mt. Washington, has a community picnic every year. I am taking my watermelon and Lee is packing other food to share.

Our community picnic is held here. A look inside first.
.
Can you guess what I am inside of?
It sits at the pinnacle of our hill. It was built between 1933 and 1936.  No I am not climbing to the top!  It holds over three millions gallons of water.  Enough for a bath, ya think!

It is a noted Art Deco landmark.  It is decorated top-to-bottom with lights every Christmas.  We have our own giant candle as a beacon for Santa Claus.  One year when we had a terrible winter storm the bulbs which are hard plastic over light bulbs blew off and pelted our home!

                       The Mt. Washington Water Tower.

Okie dokie I have to sing for my dinner.  Here I am with one of my friends performing.
Turn down the speakers you are blasting my ear drums!!!! Lee is always singing so I know the words to just about every song or I can fake, fabricate, concoct, devise, contrive the words if I don't know them.
I have been know to demolish a song or two!

Here I am singing Country Roads
I hear her voice, in the morning hour she calls me
Sweet William time for breakfast, Arrooooo
The radio reminds me of my home far away
We have it on everyday, Arrooooooooo

Well everyone loved my singing and I got my picnic dinner.  Hope you liked seeing my summer picnic.

Oh, I allowed Lee to have the chocolate off of my ice cream sundae.  Brain Freeze!

Wonder who painted this ~ I know!
