You've Got Mail

My Post Office let me, Sweet William The Scot, know that I had mail.

I had been expecting a package for awhile now from over the pond.
It got mailed to the wrong zip off the Christmas Card List and took the American tour.
(Yes that is a red bandage on my leg, I got hurt.  I will tell you about what happen next week.)

See my dear friend, Princess Leah, knows how much my Lee loves history and that we both like to read, me being a Reader Dog and all.

Well when they went to Chatsworth, Derbyshire and gave us all the great grand tour on her blog they got us a book about Deborah Mitford the Duchess of Devonshire.
So now we can read about her entire family and her escapades.
No return address utoh!
Now that Downton Abbey has ended we had to find something else with royal blood and perhaps a  Dowager like Maggie Smith portrayed to entertain us.  Well this book is doing just that.

They also sent us a wonderful Radley London notebook.  Why it has notes to self and don't forget notes and to do list notes and paper pads.  Now when I am out and about I can write down all that I want to tell you on my blog.  I won't have to worry about forgetting.
Or when Lee says we must go there and show your friends, well I can add that to my to do list.
I feel very English having a Radley.
And it has Scotties on the cover and paper like me!
Yep I hit the jackpot with this package.
And here is a Butter Pillar photo for the Princess.
A giant Butter Pillar of silk.

Princess Leah was just so thoughtful to think of me.
She is a lovely Princess to have in our Blogville.
Thank you very much fair Princess for my package.

Thanks for being a friend

Lee got called back to paint the Poodle.  Next they want a Retriever then a Dobermann.
Lee hopes they change their mind on the Dobermann.  Being they are in white the Dobermann is just going to look bare in appearance  with the other three.

The Old Stone House

The sign says closed.  But I know the owner, so come right in.
We got to cross over the covered walkway.
The sides are so pretty with wonderful window boxes.
We are looking for an old buggy wheel just like this for our landscape.
No truly we just want to sell our house!
Or perhaps a birdhouse like the one up high.
We have to get past the old barn.
Now here it is!
The Old Stone House
The large stone house which stands in my community, was built in 1802-03. It is called the Clark house for the early settler James Clark who came here in 1797 and bought the land the house was built on.
It is extraordinary - its early date, the remarkable stone construction, its state of preservation.
The house is the original two-story construction of dressed limestone and is believed to be likely the oldest standing stone house in southwest Ohio and maybe even the state of Ohio.
They say the Eastlake-style porch addition on the east side, probably was built in the late 1800s.
Clark the man who built the house was reportedly born in Virginia and he was a drummer at the battle of Yorktown in 1781.  He was a school teacher, wrote an arithmetic text back in Virginia, built a grist mill, and ran a distillery a man of many talents.
I believe this to be the old root cellar.
Today it serves as a plant farm where Lee has gotten many of her perennials.

See some of the pretty flowers.
I'm Hot!
We need some of these high grasses for privacy since a neighbor house went into foreclosure and they took down a privacy hedge.
We love the rustic old farm equipment.
These pieces have been here over the years with the house.
Well the sign says Check Out.  Guess it is that time.
The nice thing I think about my Nati City is that we have preserved our heritage as we moved into the modern day.

Queen City Gateway

I, Sweet William The Scot, am going to tell you about the Gateway.
If you enter my city by way of the East you will see the Gateaway Sculpture.
This Gateway was constructed by the support of  Procter & Gamble.
It is part of how my Nati City welcomes you.  We call it enhancing our "front doors" to our city.

This one is an art deco design and has a water fall feature.
See me off to the right hand side of the fountain.
Our city has a lot of buildings which are considered of the art deco design.
And the sculptures are our way of saying Welcome!
The Gateway sparkles in the right sunlight.

How much is that Scottie in the window.  He is not a decal.
Yep Lee painted him for a business this week.  That ninety dollars plus our cost of paint and sealer is going to get us some dinners out at Bonefish Grill and I am ordering leftovers.
Lee is going to paint them a poodle next month.  They want four dogs in all but can only afford one painted a month.

Pawlympics Coverage On The Howl

The Pawlympics are Stream Broadcasting into Blogville Square on the Jumbotron!

Finally I Am On The Air
The Howl
GOOD MORNING BLOGVILLE!
Blogville's one and only Non Serious Radio Station Howl at 469.5 coming to you live.

I'm your DJ Rockin Wills The Music Professor and I'm high up on Cairn Gorm doing the 'Munro Bagging' Event which is being held by Bertie.
Or maybe I am just HIGH!
Yep the Howl has ran their streaming signal way up here and spared no expense to bring you coverage of the Pawlympics.  I am live on the air that is if I live long at the elevation of 1,245 m and I don't fall to my death or the air runs out.  Blizzard conditions are moving in.
I'm getting a wind burn up here.
You know why suntanning isn't an Olympic sport? Because the best you can ever get is bronze. Your Howling now!
The Howl has given me a magnifying glass so I can report on Opening Ceremonies of the Pawlympics.
Yep Blogville has the honor of hosting the Pawlympics 2016.

Through my magnifying glass I can see the Parade of Athletes has started to enter the stadium.
Oh the Pawlympic Flags are waving.  Gosh it is windy down there.
The women are carrying in the Flags representing their communities.
I see Shelldon, Princess Leah and Bella!  Bella is this DJ's girlfriend why look how straight she walks.
I bet the photo shots I'm getting from this high view point I can sell to the Blogville Cat Scratch Post Newspaper!

Every pupster and kittenesta is standing and applauding wildly!
They are waving flags with their favorite Athletes name.

My MacLowland Band, Daisy, Bentley Dui, Sully and Kismet are leading the contestants into the Blogville Stadium.
The Stadium is Howling!
Do you know how playing the bagpipes is like throwing a javelin blindfolded? You don’t have to be very good to get people’s attention.
Oh I love that one it makes me Howl every time!   Bawheheeeehe!
Look out below!
Thought I would get in some practice for the Basketball Games on August 13th over at
Benji & Lassiter.

RenaBella & Dezi are hosting Fly Fishing on August 18th.
Yep it’s the Pawlympic Fishing event.  I hear it’s all online. Anyone got a good stream?  Yep I'm streaming to you live!  I could enter that event from up here.   I hear you Howling!

Now remember Athletes "the most important thing in the Pawlympic Games is not winning but taking part; the essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well.”

The Honorable Mayors are lighting the Cauldron.
The Pawlympic Cauldron has been lit!  What a wonderful sight to see.
Your DJ is hearing them say
Let the games begin.

Keep Howling
