The Trail Is Gone

I, Sweet William The Scot, am reading our new sign.
Yep that sign says Ohio River Trail.  We come here to walk in the summer.  But it is not summer yet.  The leaves are still buds on the trees.
I hear a plane landing.
This trail splits at the very back.  If you turn left it circles around Lunken Airport for six miles.  If you turn right you are going down to the Little Miami River.  The Little Miami River is a Class 1 tributary of the Ohio River that flows 111 miles.  The Shawnee called it Cakimiyamithiipi.  Can you pronounce that?
The Little Miami River is one of 156 American rivers designated by the U.S. Congress or the Secretary of the Interior as a National Wild and Scenic River and lends its name to the adjacent Little Miami Scenic Trail
I smell river water, I think something is afoot.
The trail is gone, where did my trail go?
Why that darn river wants to flow over my trail!  The river took my trail.
It has been raining for days, the river is out of its banks and is muddy.  The river is way into the trees.
Did you ever hear Big Mouth Billy Bass sing "Take me to the river, drop me in the water"?
Well I Sweet William The Scot, would drop Billy Bass for sure in the river water.

The wild flowers are starting to bloom.

            Thanks for being a friend
Traveling down the road and back again
Your heart is true and your a friend of mine.
Signing Off

    1. Hi Bentley ~ You know I think this Winter was to harsh for the ducks. They flew south and forgot to come back. I have not seen a one. Have a great week.

  7. Ring-ding-ding-and a dong...why, Sir William, your river is overflowing from too much rain? What a shame. How dare it wash away your trail...but the wildflowers do look beautiful. I hope you and your Lee are doing well, my friend. You know we think of you often.

  11. No wonder they just decided to call it the Miami River. No way could we pronounce that!

Your river trail is like ours, it has lots of different ways you can go and ONCE the river stole our trail, too.

    Looks like a great walk.

  21. Hey Sweet Wm and Lee! I saw your question about the mussels that were moved from my river to Ohio. They went to Big Darby Creek in Franklin County. Isn't that fun! That's not too awfully far from you, so my neighbors are sorta now your neighbors. BOL Here is a link to an article if you're interested...
