Bad Bad Vet

I Sweet William The Scot am still not well.

See this is why I am not well!  One incision is full of  fluid.  And the other incision well we don't know what is going on.  It could still be part of the tumor or it could be a hernia or the bad vet could have sewed me up wrong.
It will need more surgery.

We found out this veterinary office turned into a VCA office.
THEY HAVE A LOT OF RIPP OFF REPORTS!
Here is one review
Veterinary Clinics Of America Aurora VCA They charged me $3000+ to Neglect and Kill my Dog... Inexperienced!! They lack basic medical knowledge!! Aurora Illinois

They buy up retiring vets offices and put in vets out of medical schools.
They don't say Veterinary Clinics of America the clinics keep their original name and no one knows.  Which was our case.
There are more and more of these clinics across Canada and the United States popping up.  Their home base is Los Angeles, California.

They say With VCA's hospitals 4700 compassionate veterinarians, more than 525+ board-certified specialists and 750+ animal hospitals located in 43 US states and 5 Canadian provinces, you are always in good hands.

There was no compassion to us especially leaving my dog bleeding part of the tumor in and saying don't come back we will not be taking the stitches out.
I have been to a new vet three times getting myself drained.  And I am taking three types of antibiotics.

I beg you ~ Lee begs you if your original vet has retired check and see who has the practice now.

Google all the complaints yourself look at Yelp or other review sites.
Lee says be your dogs advocate.

Thanks for being a friend
Traveling down our road and back again

  3. We've had the same vet for 17 years. He pulled Kyla out of Addision's disease and helped with her incurable melanoma that spread throughout her body. He moved his office and it's more of a drive to see him. When he retires we stay more local and we'll research them.

    1. We stayed local also and the same vet for 23 years but when he retired they said three young vets bought it but it was VCA and of course they kept the name the hospital had being it had a great reputation. I feel they should put up it is a Veterinary Clinics of America. Why Banfield uses their name they don't hide a cloak.

    2. The thing about our vet iw that he ha never lied to us. He knows his stuff and my only complaint is that he doesn't do birds. He's honest.

  4. Oh dear, Sweet William, this is a very sorry tale. How wrong it is that dogs should suffer because of human greed. We do hope that with the antibiotics your wound starts to heal properly, and that any future surgery will be done in a proper, professional and caring way.
Sending love and hugs to both you and Lee,
    Your friends,
    Gail and Bertie.

    1. We think it is just wrong for VCA to hide behind the reputation of good retiring vets. It is a cloak and dagger and they sure gave me the dagger.

  5. We're sorry you're having such a hard time. We can't say we've had any trouble with any of the vets in our area. In fact, we've had some pretty good ones when it came to Miss Ginger and her eye problems, and Old Charisma with her ear problems. We hope and pray that you will start to feel better real soon. Sending lots of POTP and cocker spaniel hugs and kisses.

    1. We had the best vet care for 23 years. Lee had to dig at Ohio state level to find it was relicensed the end of November 2018 to this bad vet care HMO!

  6. We feel horrible that that has happened to you, Sweet William. But kudos for getting the word out and not just letting it go. We hope other people will be saved the trauma (and expense) because you are posting the warnings!!!

  7. My dear William I am so very sorry that you and Lee are having to go through all this trauma. When you go to see the VetPeeps you expect and should receive a certain level of professional service and I'm afraid it appears your Vetpeeps have fallen soooo far below what is expected of them. I do hopes you get well and all better soon William

    1. Fallen so low ~ that is an understatement! Why hiding the fact that they are VCA and having it no where on the paperwork or in the name of the place ~ if VCA has high standards why not brag about it rather than hiding behind the old vet who retired reputation.

  8. Oh my pal ~ this is horribles! I am so sorry you haven't healed yet! That is truly terribles what they did to that vettie office! You knows, our vettie is "vca", butts I guess they switched before all these shenanigans started. Ours has good yelp reviews, (which Ma checks regularly ~ everyone should!), and she trust the head vettie, and the office staff which has been there furevers. If any of that were to change, she would be outta there in two shakes of a squirrels tail! Luckily, there are lots of good vetties around here to choose from, so they have to keep their standards up, I guess. I feel bad still going to them after hearing abouts you and what their current practices are! Thanks for the heads up, and I will tell Ma to keep and eagle eye out!
    I hopes you gets better real soon SW! I am sendin' lots of POTP and healin' vibes and AireZens your way!!! {{{hugs}}}}

    1. I was wondering if you went to a VCA as it started in California and have the most offices there. Surprising that the staff has been there for awhile as their goal is to buy from retiring vets. That is their mission statement on their web sight. I think it is the first statement on their web page. Stay healthy Ruby and make sure Mom keeps an eye on any new staff.
Do your vet say he is a VCA clinic hospital???????????

    2. Yes, it says vca right in front of the name. I told Ma she needs to keep an eagle eye out, and question everythings!

    3. This one does not have it anywhere on the paper work, inside on the wall, outside on the sign. Your place lets you know and that is great. Knowledge is power! Thanks for answering my question Ruby.

  9. WE are so very sorry that you are having to go through this Sweet William. I don't think we have any of those here. Mom has gone to the same vet for over 30 years and they treat us real well. Sending you pug hugs and hope the new vets will get you all better.

    1. Yep my first thought was Bailey waiting for Hazel with the stroller at the being of the bridge and pushing her over the top of the rainbow. Our old vet was terrific 23 years of wonderful care till he retired.

  11. oh no william what has this bad vet done to you... lots of potp and all the luck of this earth that the new vet can help you out. I always thoughts vets pick this profession for the love of animals... but with such experiences I think I was wrong... hugs to you both and we hope that such a nightmare never ever happens to you...

  13. Oh no!!! I am so sorry this is happening to you. Thank you for letting us know about the vet scam thing. Our vet retired about 7 years ago and we didn't like the new vets, so we changed...now I wonder.

    1. I just saw your comment. Lee has been so busy taking care of me. It got worse. The anesthesia they gave me was to much for my liver and I almost died ~ I am not well but I am on Ursodiol. Ursodiol is a naturally occurring hydrophilic bile acid that is used to treat liver diseases such as primary sclerosing cholangitis, chronic hepatitis, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. It has brought two of my three liver values down over a thousand points. Thank Your for asking.
