The Parade Is Coming

Lee told me it was the Fourth of July.  Why I knew that because my birthday was yesterday.  Yep you heard that right.  I was her fire cracker dud, I popped on the third of July.

Lee said there was a parade happening and did I want to go?

Okie Dokie I grabbed my leash and we were off.

Well look, to start the parade they had a Bagpiper Group.  Yep they played my theme song.

They yelled I needed my Kilt on!!

Why look how tall my Uncle Sam is!  Uncle Sam brought Miss Liberty with him. 

We have the VFW Group here.

Yep here is the Anderson Township fire department and they are blasting their sirens.

Another Bagpipe, Drum & Fife Group.

Floats and different groups throw candy to parade watchers.  I heard the children yelling candy.

Well I think I'm a child, so when the children ran to get things I ran with them!  I got one piece of candy wrapper and all.  I tried so hard when they tossed small Frisbees and balls and I thought I had one Frisbee it was coming right at me but a little boy grabbed the Frisbee.  My mouth was open and ready to catch but the boy jumped in front - NOT FAIR!

Coming up next are Cincinnati's

 favorite characters.

Let me introduce Mr. Cincinnati Redlegs and Rosie.

They are our home team, The Big Red Machine, The Cincinnati Reds mascots.

 

 

 

Next came Buddy LaRosa, yep he and his bakers make LaRosa 's Pizza a home town favorite.

Pirate Ship the Scallywag.

Bahahaaaaaa look the woman has a leash on the van.  That van and Smart car are impersonating dogs.  That is the Clermont County Humane Society.

Look another Scottish Group swaying their kilts.

All decorated for the fourth.

Oh little Red Convertibles is Jazzi coming down the road.

No not Jazzi but the Shriners in their little Corvettes.

And we have the Anderson Park Board Represented.

Well that is just some of my July 4th Parade.

Community Garden Tour

I, Sweet William The Scot, have had to stay on the porch or inside all week.

Communities on the east side of Cincinnati have had a black bear running around.  It swam over the Ohio River and we sure hope it swims back to Kentucky soon. 

Why look at this large pigs ear, my first pigs ear ever.  Lee was in Amish Country in Adams County and got this for me because it was just freshly baked.  No Preservatives! No Additives!

Now while I chew on my treat you enjoy the pictures I took while on the Garden Tour in my Community.

This is a wonderful dappled shade garden. 

 It is a fairy garden with castle.

Wonder who lives in this tree stump house.

Over 600 Hostas and 50 varieties of ferns in this whimsical setting.

 Over two hundred cats made of wood, stone, metal and fabric throughout the garden.

Why look they are having a tea party.

This is the second garden.

 It has shrubs, dwarf conifers and perennials.

Lee loves the way the side of this shed opened up to shelves.

 This is the third garden and the newest.  Oh look at the gazebo, we would love to have a gazebo.

This garden is an eclectic mix of a formal and cottage garden.

 This home's garden was the fourth we toured.  It is an early 1800's farm home and the gardens evolved slowly.  Over three acres of garden, lawn and woods.  It has a half acre pond, weeping willows.  The old hollyhocks were not in bloom yet.

It was a mile hike back to this home and another mile back to our car.  No wonder they fed us a hot dog and a giant cookie and gave us a water bottle. So after four homes and the time spent at these four homes wondering through the gardens we never made it to the last four.

But I am glad you joined me for the tour.

Petopolis

I want to thank all of you last week for voting for my Blogville Logo design.

I was winning Murphy & Stanley's Contest when it had to be taken down.

For all those who e-mailed me with your concern, it was not my Logo that had a copyright problem.  My design was strictly my own work drawn with a calligraphy pen.

Igor Zakowski is very well know on the internet and his images are very recognizable!

Number 5 in the contest had one of his most popular copyrighted images.

Now On With The Post

Yep I. Sweet William The Scot, saw lying by Lee's purse not one but two tickets to Petopolis .

I was going too Whoop-de-do.  The show was downtown at the Duke
Energy Convention Center.

And maybe just maybe for me the most important find would be to see another Scottie.  I have not seen another dog like me since I left my pack when I was six weeks old.  Yep they wanted to get rid of me.

So without further ado Lee put up the pictures.

Why this dog an Irish Wolfhound is like one in the commercial I see on T.V. 

Agility Course and I'll toot my own horn.  For never having run a course before the instructor said I did terrific in good time and I did not miss one pole.

One like me.  Why she was just a pup.

Oh finally I got to meet a girl, a true Scottish Lassie. 

Why she came right up to me and wanted to talk WOW.

She was telling me all about herself.  She loves to swim and she only gets haircuts twice a year.

Oh gosh she is so pretty.  She looked right into my face.  I think I am in love.  I am so bashful.  What do I say to her?  Hi Beautiful ~ I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love for you.  When will I see you again?

The Nose Knows

The look I give Lee most of the time. 

 This is the look I give Lee when I want something.

This is the look Lee sees when I am thinking.

 Lee knows I have done something when my ears kind of go back.

I give myself away with the look.

When I am being scolded this is the look I give Lee.

 Lee was trying to get a mole that has been tearing up our flower bed.  Lee had flipped him over with the shovel and was going to come down hard on him with the back of the shovel when I grabbed

Mr. Mole in my mouth.  I did not like the way he squirmed in my mouth and dropped him right back in his tunnel.  Lee said I was no help at all!

Pssssss ~ Next week I will tell you all about Petopolis.  Oh and I took the Eastside Garden tour I got to tell you about that.

 

 

My Prospective Of Blogville

 

 

I was going to throw my hat into the ring for the Official Logo of Blogville to be used on a flag and all documents that Murphy & Stanley are hosting.  

My design has the earth in the center for us bloggers live all around the globe. 

It has a circle representing unity.  Unity in our love for animals.

I drew a very silly spotty dog (perhaps it could be Roxy) and a cat with white paws.

The animals tails start and end the word Blogville like a thread that holds us together.

It has the paw prints and the words Power of the Paw.

We can have much power together.

Power in numbers to speak out against animal cruelty.

Power in numbers to help our friends in need with veterinarian bills.

Power in number to pray with our friends when their animals are sick.

And someone to listen when their animals time has come to an end and they have to say goodbye.

But this past week I received an e-mail by mistake.  The e-mail was written by someone I considered a friend.  It had harsh comments about Lee.  "I had minor indirect interaction w Lee March 2012 when there was an effort to set up a blogville mall. It was a very unusual experience.  She is rather intense and a nitpicker."

I want to speak to this Mall for one minute.

My job was to go over all legal.  We had to compare E-Bay and Itsy to the Rules and Regulations of our Mall to come.  Then we had to start the paperwork to register it out of Florida where Roo lives.

It was a time consuming task  and as legal goes every word had to be correct.

When Roo and I finished, Lee elected to quit the project.  One reason being Lee had went into Waldenstrom and was very sick.  Lee closed us down for five months.

 We were six weeks into the project and no consensus was made to a name for the Mall yet.
There were no conciliatory moves or decisions.

Subsequently one person quit the following week.

Then four people quit the following month.
Then two bloggers left our community.

NOW IN THIS E-MAIL THE STATEMENT HIGHLIGHTED ABOVE COMES.

If she feels the effort was not given its just dues then perhaps she should not have quit the Mall project herself or spoken up at the time, not now in June 2014.  And spoken to me directly not in gossip to someone else.  When I e-mailed the person back she had mistakenly sent it to me,  her quote was "I am sorry you got the e-mail".  Not that she was sorry for her hurtful words. 
Lee was never given a reason as to why she 
was "very unusual" or what Lee was nitpicking about. 

 

So in concluding Lee says we no longer feel our design was an appropriate representation of what Blogville is about.
When negative comments are made behind our backs it diminishes what Blogville should be about? 
It hurts the person being talked about.  And if one stops to think I believe the one doing the gossiping has diminished themselves.

So true ~  Lets speak out when you see injustice. 

That old saying about sticks and stones, well it no longer applies. 
It is now called bullying! 

Blogville and the Globe will become a much nicer place to live.
Lets make Blogville the bestest town on the globe.

The Big Guy

I, Sweet William The Scot, want to show you the Big Guy!

 Besides murals in Cincinnati we have lots of statues.

Meet Mr. Cincinnatus.  Yep I call him mister because he is really tall.

Well look I only measure up to his ankles.

Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus (519 BC – 430 BC)

In one hand he holds the symbol of power the fasces in the other hand he holds the plow.

Hold on to that Fasces big guy.  If you drop it I will be history.

 Cincinnatus was regarded by the Romans, especially the aristocratic patrician class, as one of the heroes of early Rome and as a model of Roman virtue and simplicity.

Named in his honor is the town of Cincinnato, in Lazio, Italy. In the United States he was honored with the name of the town of Cincinnatus, New York and the Society of the Cincinnati an order of Revolutionary War Officers, which in turn lent its name to the city of Cincinnati, Ohio.

If you follow the path away from Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus and look down where I am walking, you will see things stamped in the center sidewalk blocks.

 You get a history lesson.  Why this block says ~

415 Million years ago Agnathans, small jawless fishes with body armor invade lakes and rivers.
