Art Works

Well Lee and I, Sweet William The Scot, were driving along and we noticed the light came on indicating a train was coming overhead.  We looked up and saw Art Works had used the train trestle bridge as a frame for paintings.
Why they painted the top of a painted lady house, a couple, the corner street sign, then a picture of three painted ladies and more community people.  They used the trestle to frame each picture.
How neat is that?

I got this Valentine from my gal Bella.
Yep love is all you need.
Bella sent me a magnet.
The post office must have sent it through a machine and  broke the magnets head off.
The card was all wet, you can see the scottie imprint on the card.
I told Bella Lee could fix the problem and look she glued it back together and gave it a pretty collar.  Now it is on our refrigerator.
We have been busy planting Phlox along our wall that had to be rebuilt then mulching.
Twelve plants in all, in three different colors.
The wall had to be sealed ~ so now one wall has two coats of sealer and the other wall has one coat and needs its gloss coat and the job will be done.
Lee just moves slow these days.

And finally I am sending this out there in hopes one person sees the quote.
It is called  On Thinking Independently.
You're neither right nor wrong because people agree with you.
You're right because your facts and your reasoning are right.

Tragedy On The Bridge

Well I, Sweet William The Scot, travel the Combs-Hehl  Interstate 275  Bridge over the Ohio River often.  It is just three miles from my home and gives me easy access into Kentucky.
So I am going to report to you from the scene along the Mary Ingles Highway.
I am standing right behind the news stations from Nati City.
I am here to report on recovery efforts to bring a car back to the surface.
During the time it has been in the murky strong current of the Ohio River it was tagged so that when divers and a crane could be brought in it would be easy to find.
It was tagged with metal dog crates ~ yes you heard that right metal dog crates because they are easy to pick up on sonar.
They are beginning to lower the crane.
Many people were involved but only one diver went down.
On March 15 there was an accident right before rush hour involving twelve cars, a chain-reaction crash that somehow propelled one car high over the cement barrier edge and through the steel structure bridge at just the wrong spot to cause it to plunge head first straight down to the bottom of the Ohio River where it landed on its hood.
For eleven days, the vehicle sat 27 feet underwater. Strong currents and murky waters made the recovery of the car nearly impossible until Saturday March 26th.
No one reported anyone missing till the 18th.
Finally free of the river.
The river can't be flowing more than 1.5 miles an hour to safely dive.
Finally a sunny day and the river is smooth like glass.
All river traffic was halted.
When everything was in place it took 90 minutes before the car was brought to the surface by the huge crane.
The car was 90 percent full of silt and sand.
The body of one victim was inside the vehicle his death has been ruled accidental.
The body was identified by dental records on Easter Day.
Finally almost resting on the barge.
This is a terribly sad story but we wanted to show you the great recovery work that is done on the Ohio River when accidents of all types occur.
And I, Sweet William The Scot, wanted to tell you they used dog crates to keep track of where things move on the bottom of the Ohio.
We were thankful for the beauty of the hillside driving home.

Catalogue Shopping

Well I, Sweet William The Scot, read that some of you do Catalogue Shopping.
I think every dog in the States knows about Sears and Roebuck catalogues.
Why Lee remembers as a child the one that came at holiday time filled to the brim with dreams.
Well darn would you ever buy a house from a catalogue.  I mean a real house.
Yep in their catalogue they use to sell houses.  You would see their picture floor plan and description.
Pay your money and shipped by railroad boxcar and then usually trucked to a home site.
Sears Home kit had approximately 25 tons of materials, with over 30,000 parts.
Why Easy folks could do that!  Easy Peasy like a puzzle.

From 1908–1940, Sears, Roebuck and Co. sold about 70,000 - 75,000 homes through their mail-order program.   Sears designed 447 different housing styles from elegant big homes to cottages. You could get indoor plumbing or an outhouse.   A house to suit individual tastes and budgets.
Well here is the house from the design above.
Cincinnati has around four hundred Sears homes of all different styles.  More than most cities
Sears helped popularize the latest technology available to modern home buyers in the early part of the twentieth century.
We found two Crescent homes in Nati City.
These home garner more money because of their history.
This home was built in 1922.
This is an eight room house with a solarium.
Why this Crescent Home now serves as the home of the Madeira Historical Society Museum.
This sunken garden in the back was once a pond where the owners kept an alligator.
Sears sold everything!
And do you know what Lee says she got her training bra from Sears to train her puppies.
What the devil!

Did I Feel The Earth Move

Did I feel the earth move under my feet
Did I feel the sky tumbling down
Did I feel my heart start to trembling
Darn tootin I, Sweet William The Scot, did!
It Rained!  It Rained!
I was making short trips out to do my business, just on the hill by my door.
I was peeing ~ THEN ~ the hill started to move!
The earth move under my paws!
Then my wall came tumbling down!
A'tumbling down, a'tumbling down, a'tumbling down, a'tumbling down, tumbling down!
I was in a landside with rocks and mud!
I went down!
Darn did I get muddy just because I had to pee!
Lee had to pull me out of the mess.
See all those stones, I was in amongst them going off the hill.
Oh Well!
I'm a little shaken up and with a few scrapes and bruises.
At least my ball did not wash away.
I, Sweet William The Scot, am holding onto my ball tight.
There has to be a moral to this story but darn if I know!
~~~~We want to move badly.~~~~
I got a small house to sell you that has a brand new wall!
Pssssssss ~ Then the very next day I was taking care of my business under the giant old oak tree before the rains came again and ~ " Did I feel the sky tumbling down"?  Dag Gone It sticks started falling on me!  That plane came in way to low!
Lee I think I have a buyer for the roof, the plane wants to buy our roof!
Lee always tells me to "mind my own business"!  Well I'm thinking someone elses business has to be better than mine.
And buy my neighbors roof across the street also!
Eating Out?
 Phone booth well where is the telephone?
I, Sweet William The Scot, gots to make a phone call.
I wants to order leftovers!
 That was a darn trick saying telephone when there was none.
Now look someone stuck this poor piggy in a gilded cage.
Why piggy can live in luxury but without freedom.
That is just not right.
Oh I see piggy is looking at the new mural.
Why it is a horse drawn carriage.  I bet the people in the carriage are coming to eat around here.
Why we go this way often we like Rookwood Commons
An open air mall where you can drift from shop to shop and get great eats.
Why they have Buca di Beppo Italian, PF Changs Chinese, Long Horn Steak, Max & Erma's, Qdoba Mexican Grill,  Don Pablo's, First Watch and for fast food Five Guys Burgers & Fries and Donato's Pizza.
But Lee goes around the corner a lot to eat here.  We love seafood.
Now when Lee leaves me in the car she always asks do I want a doggie bag or leftovers.
Always ask for leftovers because it can be anything good and comes in nice containers like these.
Yep I always order leftovers.
Don't ask for doggie bags because they come in a bag with wadded up tin foil that you have to lick.
Why I don't have to read a menu, I can just look at the leftover box and see what I am getting.
These pictures were taken last October.  It rained most of last week.
