Cincinnati ~ The nickname Porkopolis was coined around 1835, when Cincinnati was the country's chief hog packing center, and herds of pigs traveled the streets. We host the Flying Pig Marathon every May. Cincinnati is kind of an Artsy Fartsy City. Every so often we let the pigs out.
The Big Pig Gig is an arts project and fundraiser for ArtWorks, a non-profit that connects artists of all ages with opportunities in the arts through apprenticeships, community partnerships, and public art
The Big Pig Gig: Do-Re-Wee, features 100 adopted and decorated Pigs
