Today I Am Eleven

Lee woke me up this morning and told me that I, Sweet William The Scot, am eleven years old today. I'm in shock.  Don't I look shocked?
Well how did that happen?
I don't remember eleven years.  I just remember Lee and me together doing things.
Lee baked me a special Carrot Cake for Dogs that she found on Daily Puppy and humans can eat it also.  See it behind me.  The two of us are having cake and ice cream tonight.  Lee and me together doing things.
Lee made me my birthday hat and you know I don't mind wearing it at all.
Why even my flower which I showed you last week bloomed its first flower on my birthday.
Lee says it is not quite peachy brown nor is it quite orange.
It is the color of a cantaloupe melon inside.

Welcome To My Secret Bench

Lee says the Canna bulb in the pot behind me is a new variety which should bloom a peachy brown.
The yellow sedum plant along side of me has stopped blooming as has the lily of the valley flowers.
But the arch trellis in front of me is loaded with blooms on the trumpet vine.

I, Sweet William The Scot, am just going to sit here an read a book till the Canna flower opens.
Yep a book that is bound and has a hard cover and pages that you turn that you can put a lovely bookmark in.  Lee got insulted about not having a Kindle this week and that we would sell a hard cover book.  No we would not sell we just believe books are to share.
Lee says hope your week is better than ours has been because this week seems like a month.

Then the world will have more Kismet Parrots.
Yep Kismet was one cracked egg for sure.
Happy Parrot Day Everybody

My dear dear friend Nessa Noodle who has appeared on my blog from time to time made her final journey Monday, April 27.  Nessa was thirteen years two months to the day when she got the call.  She was much loved by Kathe and her DaDa.   Nessa struggled all her life from an ailment that she acquired after getting her shots.  She could not hold her head straight and had a hard time working her mouth just to eat took quite a bit of effort. Her family did everything to give her the bestest life possible and Nessa managed to have a full life and was a true loyal Scottish Terrier.  We hold her memory in our hearts here, we shall miss you forever Nessa.  We know God welcomed her being the faithful companion she was.  Rest well my friend.

Soap Dopers In The Race

I, Sweet William The Scot, along with my friend Nessa are joining Downunder Daisy and Blogville in the ISO-lympics.
Nessa and I are entered in the doubles Sanitize the World Race!
We are racing to scrub the world clean of the Covid-19.
Nessa has all of our supplies in her Chewy Box.
Yep this is a World Wide Race.
Sanitizing is the process of reducing germs on surfaces to meet public health standards.
We are the Soap Dopers.

Nessa has her face mask on! Wait that is a mud facial mask not a protective mask.  Nessa it's the wrong type of mask!  Jeez Girls!
I got my protective mask on!
We'll see all of our friends at the finish line.
Now tap the ISO-lymic Badge and be directed to Downunder Daisy.

The State Of The World

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up: To more than I can be
My good friend Nessa who follows all of our blogs but does not have one herself just sent me this picture.  Yep an underwire bra with a filler cup is good protection.  Lee said those bras that poke you had to be good for keeping something up and out.
Nessa raised my spirits up today.

I'm a Big Boy

Lee always calls me her Big Boy or Man Of The House.
But usually at this time of the year she confuses me.  See usually during Lent and only during Lent does Lee go to the Big Boy.  Lee says they have one of the best fish sandwiches.
Yep when we walk by this guy Lee says there is the Big Boy but wait I am her Big Boy.
I'm confused.
Lent is sad this year because we can't go to the Big Boy.
We can't go to Friday Fish Fry Dinners.
We can't pray the steps to the Holy Cross Immaculata Church in Mt. Adams.
We can't go to the Cincinnati Zoo or Krohn Conservatory to see the flowers.

Why Lee even said there will be no Easter dinner this year.
Chewy will you get me my kibbles because I at least want that for Easter Dinner under my green beans.

I say this is just a nightmare so Bugger Off Covid-19.

IN PURRSUIT OF FLAVOURS

Easy Blog IN PURRSUIT OF FLAVOURS
Yep I am mixing it up with the Phenny and Nelly.
To my Lee nothing is as good as a fresh salad with her homemade salad dressing.
The last of our lettuce till we can get out again!
Lee uses the tiny heirloom tomatoes particularly the deep purple ones.  Usually her salads have sliced carrots, celery, thin mandolin sliced red sweet onion and Kalamata olives the large dark purple ones.  The more colorful the better.

So here is her special recipe for the Salad Dressing.
Ingredients
1/2 cup mayonnaise (Lee loves the mayonnaise with olive oil)
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup buttermilk (whoops Lee forgot to put the buttermilk in the picture)
1 1/2 tsp. minced roasted garlic
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
Fresh ground black pepper to taste.
Instructions
Well just whisk it together

For croutons Lee takes old bread and cuts it up in no particular way.  Toss with melted butter, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Bake at 350 for 20 minutes, tossing the pan every five minutes
Make sure they are crunchy and golden
Let cool

Next time we will have roasted asparagus or maybe mashed cauliflower gratin casserole.

I'm Prepared

When Lee went to the grocery two weeks ago she came home with bad news.
Lee said the grocery had no green beans or canned pumpkin for my special diet.
Who in a pandemic is buying up all the canned pumpkin?

Lee got me the last really super sized packaged hamburger so I would have meat and a bag of carrots and cottage cheese for a month.
Lee said at least I did not use toilet tissue or hand sanitizer for there was none.

Well guess what a friend found me this.
Yep she bought me a large bag of green beans and four cans of pumpkin enough for a month and left it at my door.  Thanks Janet!

I'm prepared for the pandemic!
Lee said consider this my Easter Basket this year.
Yeah right I knew that was happening!
My state is in lockdown.

It's Them

Lee and I were stuck in traffic and Lee was trying to change lanes because there was an accident in our lane.

I was sitting in my car seat and I saw them.
I looked up and there they were.
They were going past our world just like my Blogville logo that spins on my sidebar.

I saw Elliott and ET!

Why ET rides like I do in the basket while Lee pumps like Elliott.

But what's wrong that Lee cannot get us off the ground?

Lee keeps telling me it is a new mural in our Nati City but I know different it was truly them.  I believe do you?

Naughty or Nice

Were you Naughty or Nice?
Did you do the Snowflake Shake?
Did you Wack a Penguin?
Because you sure did something to drive old Kris Kringle to drink!
Yes all you dogs out there Kris Kringle does not want those cookies and milk ~ he wants the booze.
You had better watch out because when Kris Kringle gets upset we get a whole lot of albino brain jiggers dumped on us.
Yep they are coming down!

Another Nati City Christmas Tradition

I have showed you many Christmas traditions in Nati City but I have never shown you the center of my city at Christmas.

Tyler Davidson Fountain ~The Genius of Water.
It sits right in the center of my city.
It is regarded as the city's symbol and one of the area's most visited attractions.  It was dedicated in 1871 and is the centerpiece of my city.
The 43 foot tall fountain is cast in bronze and sits on a green granite base.
The inscription "To the People of Cincinnati" appears on its base.
At Christmas the square holds a giant cedar tree like Rockefeller Center.  Nati City has a big lighting ceremony.
Hi, see me here?
Behind the cedar we have an ice rink set up where you can skate everyday and into the night with the gorgeous tree lights.
The building behind the tree is where my Lee worked for years on the 45th floor and in the lobby stands this tree.
The lighting is very funny because of a glass ceiling that goes up two stories till the upper floors in the building start.  This is where Santa comes.  He is suppose to be here at noon so I get my picture taken with Santa. I'm first in line can you tell.  Lee wanted to get here early for me.
Where Lee ate lunch today had these gorgeous window boxes and Lee sat at this window so I could see her and I got leftovers.  I always order leftovers which was salmon today.

Well I have more Christmas photos I will show you next week.

BOO!

Is it just me or is it getting dark?

BOO!

How would you like to have this ghoul and tarantula living in your neighborhood?
The ghoul had a leash on that tarantula till someone took it, now it can roam free.
Guess I will do my potty in the next yard.

Budweiser Clydesdales

I, Sweet William The Scot, went to see the Clydesdales and hear all about this hitch from Merrimack, New Hampshire.
This is the lightweight at 1800 pounds and last to be hitched.
A single Clydesdal hitch horse will consume as much as 20-25 quarts of feed, 40-50 pounds of hay and 30 gallons of water per day.
Merlin giving me the one eyed look.  Every time I got close to him he would hide his head.  Every time I started to walk away he would neigh.  Then finally he looked me in the eye.  He was comical.

Admiral the biggest horse on this hitch coming in at just over 2,000 pounds and muscles does he have muscles.
Look at those tails I would not want my tail tied up in a knot with a bow.
It takes just fifty minutes to get all the horses manes and tails tied pretty. Why it takes that long for Lee and me to get ready.
The harness for these magnificent animals are over 140 pounds.  Lee could not lift one.
It takes awhile for the whole team to get hitched together and Admiral the first one to get hitched has to stand there and wait and wait for the other seven.  He has patience he never moved.
I got parked in the shade where I could see everything and watch Lee.  Because of my liver issues I am not fully vaccinated this year as those vaccinations have to go through your liver.
I had my rabies and my titers were good for my other vaccines but I am not getting canine influenza vaccine this year so Lee is keeping me out of the spotlight as I am so social and everyone wants to pet me.

Guess Who I Met Today

Do you know who this is?
Her Mom was with her.
She cannot get up there yet!
She is looking to see what's in the back.  Bawhehehe
Maybe she wants a cold one!
Or maybe she is looking for a way down.
She has to be tied in because she does not have her manners yet!
She is Lily, the new Budweiser Clydesdale Dog out of Merrimack, New Hampshire.  She is a puppy and this is her first tour.

I, Wills, have been quite sick for along while ~ not in pain ~ but that dam surgery well the anesthesia that they gave me almost killed off my entire liver.  But finally my liver values are coming down.  I had to have a liver ultrasound and biopsy of five spots and blood drawn and tested every week then now I am every month.
Bad Vet should have never used that anesthesia on me.
Lee said goodbye to $3,000 to help me and she told me there would never be any money in my piggy again.
I am just starting to do things again.
I'll show you the Clydesdale horses next time.  One took a real liking to my Lee.
