My Town

Look at the flowers I grow ~ white clematis, red tulips, yellow chrysanthemum.  My garden is so beautiful and I don't have to water or fertilize.
Oh I made another terminological inexactitued, I'm bad.  Now for really bad ! Everytime I say clematis we laugh because Lee has a friend who seriously called the flower white or purple chlamydia.  By the way her chlamydia plants were beautiful this year.  Now I have digressed from subject Bawhehehe!

This mural appeared painted on the concrete wall along Route 50 this Spring.  I, Sweet William The Scot, wanted you to see the part of my town which the mural reflects.  Columbia-Tusculum is the oldest neighborhood in Cincinnati, Ohio and is located on the East Side of the city.  About three miles from my home.  It is a historic district that was once a neighborhood where steamboats were built.  The neighborhood is noted for the Victorian era homes decorated in the painted ladies multi-color style.  See the mural has several of the painted ladies and lovely flowers and birds.

The real houses.
Higher Level Art added a splash of color to the drab concrete wall near the gardens.  Students from the Art Academy of Cincinnati helped in the project.

Mayor Frankie Day

I am disclaiming,  repudiating, disavowaling (DICTIONARY) anything my Lee types if it stinks, because she had an emergency appendectomy and I, Sweet William The Scot, can verify Lee is wigged out on pain meds.

Traffic Report

Down the road I go, an what to my wondering eyes should appear, oops wrong story, but I came upon this aberration (DICTIONARY).
Yes this Scooter Store Scooter on Highway 125, speed limit is 45 to 55 miles per hour four to six lanes of traffic. I would say it gets real good gas milage. Go Granny Go Granny The Little Old Lady From Pasadena Go Granny Go.
Do you need a license to ride this on the highway? WOWZA
Traveling down the road further I came upon a gargantuan, humongous, jumbo truck.
The picture is for Jazzi's Dad, I understand he likes trucks and I got to be super duper nice to him because he is my girls Dad. It took this truck 20 minutes to maneuver the corner. Largest truck on the road.  52 tires, count them.  On the truck was a gargantuan wooden box that held a lathe that came from Italy by boat to New Orleans then to Cincinnati.  The base of the lathe will sit down three stories in concrete.
I have been traveling down this road too long ~ Detour, there's a muddy road ahead detour.  Don't let the mud of the week get you!

Run For The Roses

KENTUCKY DERBY
Well I, Sweet William The Scot, am ready for the Kentucky Derby. Got my fanciful straw bowler hat, got my own roses and now I am going to mix up my Mint Julep, The Very Dream of Drinks, so I can imbibe the spirits. WooHoo!!!!!!
The mint julep has been promoted by Churchill Downs in association with the Kentucky Derby since 1938. Each year almost 120,000 juleps are served at Churchill Downs over the two day period of the Kentucky Oaks and the Kentucky Derby, virtually all of them in specially made Kentucky Derby collectible glasses.
Since 2006, Churchill Downs has also served extra-premium custom-made mint juleps at a cost of $1000 each at the Kentucky Derby. These mint juleps are served in gold-plated cups with silver straws, and were made from Woodford Reserve bourbon, mint imported from Ireland, spring water ice cubes from the Bavarian Alps, and sugar from Australia. The proceeds are used to support charitable causes dedicated to retired race horses. In May 2008, Churchill Downs unveiled the world's largest mint julep glass. It has a capacity of 206 US gallons.
INGREDIENTS

  • 3 sprigs fresh mint
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1 teaspoon superfine sugar
  • 2 ounces bourbon

  • INSTRUCTIONS
Muddle 2 mint sprigs, the water, and the sugar in a silver julep cup.
Fill the glass with crushed ice, and pour in the bourbon.
Garnish with the remaining mint sprig.
Who is your favorite to win the Kentucky Derby?

    A toast to the winner.

    On The Streets

Got Your Picture ~ I am one stealthy dude.
Sweet William The Scot here on the streets reporting to you on the cleanup effort after the tornado of  March 2nd with EF3…WIND SPEEDS 136 TO 165 MPH.
I did not want to show the terrible sorrow right after the tornado flayed, barraged, trounced (well you get the picture) but now that we are almost two months out I thought I would show you the cleanup that is taking place.

See all of the Duke Energy trucks that came to help. There are three rows of these trucks. They worked night and day to get electricity back.
Oh see the funny stop sign, all of them were angled the same.

Big brush piles can be seen every couple of blocks.

This nice brick house was completely gone. So few bricks left to stack.

And another log house where the tornado entered through the back and went out the front.

Oh and this home was really historic.

The tornado went right to the side of the power plant. This power plant never went on line as a nuclear plant. This operates as a coal fired plant.

Well look at this little condominium complex that survived in the mist of all the fragments of broken buildings.

    Under Construction

Color for my background O.K. I can work on that! Well there is Blue and there is Yellow and wait there are more boxes. They didn't put any color in those boxes, is this a trick??? TRICK QUESTION! "Oh no, what have I done?" This is my blog Sweet William The Scot. See it says Scot meaning Scottish Terrier, which translates DOG. Chromatic colors independency does exist in my species, DOG, you know. I can basically see yellow and blue and violet. Oh now I know why Lee painted yellow centers to my daisies. I like violet . You know the colors we see Yellow, Blue, Violet are in all Rainbows. I want to know WHY I ask you why, would they give us all those blocks with no COLORS? We have our colors.
    Yellow
yellow is that bright color associated with clarity of thought and awareness. It symbolizes cheerfulness, energy, orderliness
    Blue
this cool color of divinity stands for peace, tranquility, stability and harmony. It also stands for loyalty and trust
    Violet
this color is the highest and most subtle specialization of light stability and symbolizes idealism.
Yep, we dogs are always cheerful when we see our peeps. We are always loyal and trust our peeps. And we are the idealism that other species should reach for.
Yep our colors say alot about us.
"Hey cutie where are you from" do you see the colors I see.
    What color did I choose?
"Oh no, what have I done?"
    To be continued maybe ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    The Old Corn Crib
The Old Dinner Bell! Stop by sometime for dinner when you hear the bell!
Oh this is our Out House, excuse me for a moment while I take care of my business. Be Right Back!!

Got to wash my paws after being in the Out House.

BAWHAHAHA not my house you silly people if you believed me. That was a terminological inexactitude. DICTIONARY But the cabin is in walking distance from my home, so I thought you might enjoy seeing the old log cabin.
The first settler to my area was Ichabod Benton Miller. Ichabod Benton Miller purchased 440 acres in Anderson Township on April 2, 1796. The log house Miller built on his property around 1796. He lived in this log cabin on what is now Clough Pike. This house is now a well known historical landmark of Cincinnati's first settlements. This house was built a few years before the state of Ohio became an official state!
This house is the area's oldest continually occupied house having been lived in until 1968! Could you imagine that? After that family moved out, the cabin was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places. The house is named for the first and last families who owned it. "Miller-Leuser Log House" http://www.remarkableohio.org/HistoricalMarker.aspx?historicalMarkerId=106194
